We went to our ward party Saturday night and had a nice, relaxing time. I think we're beginning to feel like a part of the ward now. It takes a little more effort when you're in a big ward like ours. We both have callings now. I'm the primary chorister and pianist. Another girl has the same calling as me and we switch off every month. That makes it really fun. Brian is an advisor in the Teacher's quorum. He's glad he still gets to serve in the young men's organization.
Abby was a real trooper at the ward party considering she was at the mall with me all day long. We had a girls day at Grapevine Mills with Missy, little Ben and Melinda. I've never seen Melinda catch the bargain bug so badly before. She had this wild look in her eyes. Who would have thought that 99 cent shoes could do that to a person...
Abby was so tired she was trying to hide the bags under her eyes.

Hey, when you're on a budget, and you find kid shoes for only 99 cents a pair, it makes a person a little crazy! Especially when you have 2 kids who grow out of shoes every 3 months!
But Melinda, your kids are always barefoot. Who needs shoes?
They do wear shoes! If you looked at their feet on Sunday, they were both wearing them!
John was so excited about the 99¢ shoes we went BACK to Grapevine and bought 3 more pairs! Unfortunately, most of them were gone by that point, but we got size 4 and 5's. I'm going to hit the Children's Place by my house and see if they have anything similar. Plus, John found running shoes at the mall which he really needed so it was worth the drive back up there. And yes, Melinda we usually see your kids without shoes (what's wrong with that? Abby wont' wear shoes either!), but I will attest to the fact that Tommy WAS wearing Spiderman sandals on Sunday!
