A hobby of mine
This hobby is kind of an on again off again hobby that I've been doing for a long time. When the weather's right, and when I have the time and motivation, I love to take old pices of furniture and give them a new life. (My sister Melinda loves doing this too) The first piece of furniture I refinished I worked on with my dad when I was a teenager, so I remember him every time I'm working on a piece.
Here's one I recently did. I found at Salvation Army for $20. I think its supposed to be some kind of magazine rack. Or a fancy horse trough. It's a toss up.

$6 worth of paint and now it looks like this.

I put it in our front entry to put shoes, backpacks and such on.
(Pardon the crappy phone pictures.)

That's pretty good! I never would have thought about doing that with that piece. Great idea. I love doing this too. It's refreshing and empowering.
