Christmas Work Party

One thing that I always look forward to is Brian's work Christmas party. The party coordinators always come up with creative ideas to make the parties interesting and fun. This year's was no exception and we really did have fun. Any negative comments I may have made on my previous post only reflect my picky, uncomfortable, pregnant self and were not meant as a slam to the company or to those who work so hard to plan the parties.

So, I think I should comment, because this wasn't the original post. Mandie had written that the party was somewhat "lame." I actually agree with her defense. She must have been on an angry pregnant episode, because we really do look forward to these parties. It gives us a chance to get dressed up and act like adults for a change. It also gives Mandie a chance to meet some of the people I work with on a day-to-day basis. The difficult part is that I only know 10% of the people at my company. Add their significant others and you have a party full of complete strangers. I bet there were over 300 people at this party. I've considered going to Toastmasters so I can learn how to be more comfortable approaching strangers and having an engaging conversation.
Anyways, it was only lame because I was a lame escort for Mandie. We talked to most of the people I knew and that took about one hour. Add food and the walk through the rain forest and we were done by 9:30. The venue was pretty cool. Maybe next time we'll bring a party game to try and spice it up.
I read that somebody couldn't see a Christmas Party at an Aquarium, but you have to remember it was a "Holiday Party" not Christmas. So, we didn't have to worry about tying in a Christmas theme.

Brian...Matt has been to Toastmasters before. You should talk to him about it.
