Abby's last day of school was today and I'm really sad. She LOVED school, talks about her teacher and friends all the time, and I don't think she's going to understand why she's not going back to school on Monday. She'll go back in the fall, and we'll do lots of swimming and other fun things in the meantime, but I'm just a little sad for her. And *maybe* just a little bit sad for me too. It was hard sending Abby off to school at first, but turns out, having one kid in school is kinda nice.

This is her Auditory Impairment Teacher "Mit Adam" (translation: Mrs. Adams) It was her first year of teaching and I think she's going to miss the kids more than they will miss her.

This is Abby's Speech Language Pathologist, "Mit Migee" (Mrs. McGee) She's hearing impaired also and went through the very same program as a child that Abby is going through. Although her hearing loss is moderate to profound, you can't tell a single bit. She's a poster child for how successful the Plano Regional Day School Program for the Deaf really is and what it can do for hearing impaired children.

How adorable Abby looks with her teachers!
How great for Abby to have a "mentor" like that too! It sounds like you have a great program nearby too! I'm a little envious! :)
I totally understand. I was a sobbing mess on Wednesday for my preschoolers' last day. One of the moms started crying when she dropped her child off before school. The good news is that if Abby doesn't qualify for summer school it means she's had a great year!
I am so glad that she had such a great first year. You can tell that Abby LOVES these ladies
