We thought it was time to sell Abby's old baby furniture and get her some grown-up stuff. I went in search of some good deals and re-did her room for $250!
Found this on Craigslist for $50. It had good bones, but definitely not my style. So we primed it, painted it and put new handles on it. I think its pretty classy! The handles and paint were a little pricey, so in all, I spent $80 on this dresser.

This was a totally serendipitous find at Salvation Army. I bought it for $30, paint was $10, so I spent a total of $40 on this rockin' bookshelf.

Because of the big window seat, the only kind of bed that will work in Abby's room is a daybed. I found this one at Garden Ridge on sale for $100 (normally $250!) The quilt and sham were $30 at Target.

So cute! I love being thrifty and thinking how much you saved. I love the black it is so classy and Lydia would be in heaven if she saw those pink walls.
That is great. I can't believe you found such cute things so cheap. We spent a fortune on the girls bunk beds. I need to be more like you and look for the deals.
AWESOME! That is so much work--but it looks AMAZING!
I admire your thrift. I'm currently in the process of re-doing my kids furniture. I'll let you know how it turns out. You sure do have class.
Do you use spray paint or paint and a paintbrush to refinish your stuff?
her room turned out so cute!! how i wish for a girl...
I used spray paint this time, cause it was a big project. I *wish* I could use a paint gun and spray it on because it goes on so smoothly and quickly, but that would be an investment.
Good job, Mandie! It's so cute. I've been hoping you would post a picture of the bed since you told us about it last week. That's a steal!!
GREAT JOB! You bargin shopper you. It looks so grown up! I am sure she loves it.
I LOVE the bed! Great job on the furniture! Where did you get the handles for the dresser?
I love it! Great job, I love repainting old stuff! It all looks so good.
Impressive!
I love the day bed! Little Abby is growing up.
Great deals. The only better deal would have been a curb find. Anyone ever watch Junk Brothers?
