torture

Going to the audiologist alone with two kids fairly new to the whole hearing aid thing is NOT. FUN. AT. ALL. Abby hates when we take out her hearing aids, wires scare her, and she has yet to let us do any booth testing on her. She was seriously borderline fetal position nervous breakdown a few times. Carter is younger and was a little more cooperative, but he wasn't too keen on getting ear mold impressions, and he cried the whole time and for the rest of the visit. But can you blame him? Look how RED it turned his ears! Poor baby!

Anyway, we got them adjusted, got new ear mold impressions, and even got some good data on Carter in the booth, so I'm happy. My ears are still ringing and I've needed a few doses of Tums since then, but it was worth it. However, next time I'm taking someone with me.

Stay tuned for a later post about the insane things that happened to us at McDonalds afterwards. Here's a little hint: Lord of the Flies and Billy Graham.

I can only imagine how much torture that was for ALL OF YOU! I wonder if the hearing both things was the same thing I had to do with Liam before he got his tubes? It was so interesting to me that a baby so young would actually turn and respond over and over to little sounds--side to side...

Carter's shirt is so cute, where did you get it?

I can only imagine the torture. Hopefully they will grow to get used to it!

Where's the rest of your story??

Can't wait to hear. I'm sorry the kids don't like the doctor. I hate taking all three girls to the doctor by myself. Imogen is great, and Lorelai is getting better, but Matilda hates the doctor and cries the entire time.

The poor little guy, that picture makes me want to give him a hug. I am sorry it was so crazy for you, going to our routine appt. gets crazy without all the testing and poking so I can't even imagine. I can only begin to guess what happened at Mcdonald's-can't wait to find out. :)

Oh, my! It can be so hard in the toddler/preschool years to get them to cooperate. Our audi sometimes tests Nolan using his earmolds as the insert earphones- she just tucks the wire behind his earmold. That freaks him out a little less, but he still doesn't like people messing with his ears.

I'm curious about McDonald's- that place can be insane on the play yard!

Sounds like bringing an extra person will be good for future visits.
