downtown wylie

Last night Brian let me steal away for a while and practice shooting. I've been dying to take portraits in downtown Wylie, so I headed down there to scope out the architecture. Although small, the few streets that compromise "downtown" are enchanting, especially at dusk. The small shops and restaurants are quaint and full of charm, and the corners and back streets are filled with small doorways and walls full of personality. Its a fun little place, and I hope to go back and take some real portraits soon. I need practice models. Anyone interested?

This is a 50ft mural (only showing half) that depicts early Wylie.

Around the corner I found a big, grey rundown house with a great porch and thought it would be a cool place to take pics of kids. I knocked on the door and asked the owner if I could take pictures of his house and he agreed. I love the can of Off sitting next to the rocking chair. Classic.

We'll be your practice models. Just let us know when. Either just me and the kids or the whole family. Oh yeah, I need to get a haircut first too. :)
