We went in for my little cochlear implant technology lesson with the audiologist today. It's a little overwhelming knowing that I am going to be responsible for working, troubleshooting, and sometime fixing this very expensive equipment. She showed me all of Abby's gear and how to work it, and we let Abby put it on to try it out. Abby was so excited to wear it, so hopefully she will be just as excited when they turn it on. She also hooked Abby up to the computer and did a check on her implant to make sure everything was working properly, and we left with a box full of Med-el toys for the kids.

Abby's "activation" date is Monday, August 24th, which is also her first day of school. Exciting times ahead! Yay!

Um - can we say "overwhelming"? Anybody? Beuhler? You'll get it, but that's got to be a bit of a mental heavy load to carry. Maybe if you teach it to someone else within the next 36 hrs you will be more likely to remember it.
So excited for you! She's beautiful too, btw!
That is exciting--we'll say a little prayer that it all goes well!
adorable picture!
So exciting. We are a Med-El family too and I would be happy to answer any questions you have once you get the device. It's easy once you get the hang of it. ;)
Good luck on Monday! Can't wait to hear all about it! What a great picture too!!!
