I feel like I hardly blog anymore. I'm never short of random things to talk about, its just that I don't have much gumption anymore. I've been doing a lot of photo shoots lately, and with that comes the editing process of the pictures, which, for a person like me who is still new at this whole thing, takes a long time. I'm getting faster at editing, learning some tricks and such, and I'm also *trying* to get better at taking pictures so I don't have to do too much to them. But I've also realized that I really need to try not to edit when the kids are awake, because I feel guilty taking time away from them. And since my kids don't take naps, that means I'm editing late into the night sometimes.
I know it will get better. I will become more proficient and efficent and find a balance with the most important job of motherhood. But I have learned in the past nine months that there's no way I could ever give this up. I love it too much.
So here is an example of a "before" picture that could use a little editing. It was too dark, and the contrast between mom's face (sorry, Carrie) and baby was too extreme.

So with a little work, here's the finished product.

You have an amazing talent! I love seeing the pictures you take and wish I was still there so you could capture my munchkins ... we may be planning a family trip in the Spring, so you may hear from me!
What a great job! I wish I knew how to do that. The edited photo is just "wow," with the baby's blue eyes.
You have a lot of talent-and one day Abby and Carter will be old enough to let you edit photos during the daytime hours (g)!
Beautiful!
I am so glad that my terribly freckly skin could be a great example of your good editing and photo taking. It does look way better though. Thanks.
it looks awesome!!! Love the blue eyes!!!
Those eyes are amazing. You have a gift, Mandy!
