Meet my new friend, Mr. Rebel XTi. He's been to Italy, Alaska, Chili, Bolivia, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Egypt, and Israel, to name a few. This was my father-in-law's camera, and when he broke it a few weeks ago he decided it was time for an upgrade. So he called us up and said he'd give us the old one if we'd pay for the repairs. Uh, heck yeah! I've actually been saving up (slowly) for a camera and had a total of $256 in my savings account. The repairs were $265. Is that a blessing, or what? Aren't inlaws wonderful?
I'm so excited to FINALLY have an SLR camera. I've so desperately wanted one for so long that I borrowed their camera many times and even bought my own lense for it. So what better first slr camera to have than the one I've gotten to know so well.
Mr. Rebel, I have a feeling this is going to be a wonderful relationship.
Here's just a few pics that I took at a family get together on Saturday.

That is a beautiful thing...so excited for you!
Those are awesome. You have such great perspective on things.
I'm glad you got a great camera, and for so cheap! Aren't in-laws wonderful?
A rebel for the rebel? That's very exciting--enjoy!
love the trampoline pic! beautiful.
They turned out great.
My Canon, is my other baby :) And, sometimes my 'favorite' of all of them, depending on the day-LOL.
Now I can enjoy your blog even MORE!! Great writing and superb pics. What more could I want?
On a side note, it looks like our weather is beating yours into spring, but just barely.
It wasn't until I realized that these people weren't posing that I actually appreciated the pictures! What a great camera! It can capture things in less than a moment! What I would give to 1. understand cameras better, 2. know settings and use them, and 3. have that little toy you now call your own. CONGRATULATIONS!
