the worst

Have you ever woke up in the middle of the night with a migraine? I did last night. I get headaches all the time, but hardly ever do I get serious migraines. I mean the kind that give you the shakes, cold sweat, and nausea, and every light and noise and movement makes it worse, and all you can do is lay in a dark room and hope that sleep takes over and it goes away. And so of course, Brian is out of town, so I called his parents, who came over immediately and gave me a blessing and dosed me with some Excedrin Migraine, but not before I threw up, in the sink, with my mother-in-law beside me. How embarrasing!

I was so afraid that I would still have the migraine in the morning, and I wouldn't be able to function for my kids, so my mother-in-law stayed the night with me and got the kids up this morning so I could sleep it off. She sacrificed her morning shift at the temple for me and I am so grateful. She was a lifesaver!

I woke up this morning with no headache, just the jitters from the residual caffiene in the Excedrin, but that was a scary moment for me and one I had never been in before. To be by myself and know that I wouldn't be able to take care of my children is a position I don't ever want to be in again.

I am so grateful for my wonderful in-laws, and that we live so close to family. And I am especially grateful for the healing power of priesthood blessings. Oh. And Excedrin.

You do have great in-laws. Give them a hug for me the next time you see them. I get migraines every once in a while, but never in the middle of the night. I have great sympathy. One once came right before my general music class, I couldn't find Advil, and they clapped rhythms for the whole hour. Not my happiest memory. :)

I'm so sorry. That sounds awful. I do know what you mean about having great in-laws. My mother in-law is a saint. She is always willing to do anything and everything to help out.

Migraines suck I started having them when I was 8! I am glad you are feeling better. It is so hard to be a mom when you have a headache. I am glad you had family to help you, what a blessing.

I am so glad McMurdies are close enough to help in an emergency. They are great people. You should do a food log and see if there is a clue. You said you made apple crumble. Could cinnamon be a trigger?

I am glad the migrane was short lived. It sounds like it was a terribly long night. I wish I could have been there for you, but am really glad your in-laws came to the rescue along with help from above.

That's awful! I never get migraines in the middle of the night, they normally come in the late evening. I'm glad you had help so close by!

I know how you feel---with your fear of not being able to take care of your kids..... Isn't that like the WORST feeling ever? I have had that with Kidney stones before several times. I am glad to have family to call on also.

Wow, how scary. Lucky for you that you married in to a great family. We're very grateful they were there to help.
