Temple Silhouette

UPDATE: I have a design blog! Visit http://midmodinspirations.blogspot.com/ for more DIY/Decor inspiration!

I rescued this frame from a neighbor's bulk trash pile. Yay for dumpster diving! It's a pretty old, and very heavy frame, and some of the plaster had been chipped off. But I thought I'd try to give it a new life with a new color. After two coats of Emerald Lake by Behr and two coats of poly, I started on the silhouette. I cut out a silhouette of the Salt Lake City Temple with black construction paper and mod podged it to a styrofoam board and secured it to the frame. I had all the materials so this project was totally free!

Well...

I have three minutes before I have to leave to pick up the kids from school, and I'm sitting at the desk in the front room of our new home paying bills and checking Google Reader. I am reminded every time I read others' blogs, that I really, REALLY need to start blogging about our life again, because aside from Facebook, I have no written record of the last couple of years. But my excuse is always, "I don't have time!" So I challenged myself in the few minutes I had before picking up the kids, that I could create a short blog post. If I could do it in three minutes, then I really have no excuse to take 5-10 minutes out of each day and blog. I'm gonna try it! Catching up is going to be rough, but it's worth it, right?

Here's a current picture of our crazy family.
