All was well on the McMurdie Farm yesterday until Abby woke up from her afternoon nap. She was inconsolable for about an hour. She was in so much pain from her throat. She was also super hungry but it hurt to eat. So I called Brian's sister, Jill, who was a pediatric nurse and she told us what to do to make her comfortable. Then Brian's brother who lives down the street came and helped give her a blessing. She calmed down for the blessing and didn't cry at all after that. It was a relatively peaceful night. aah..... What would I do without the Priesthood?
I thought after her fourth dose of medicine that she would be pretty much pain free, but I guess not. She still doesn't feel good and she's super grouchy and will cry at the drop of a hat. I just put her down for a nap and she cried herself to sleep, which she never does. I'm so afraid what she's going to be like when she wakes up. It breaks my heart to see her this way and I just want to make everything better! I want my sweet, happy Abby back.

Poor Abby! That makes me so sad to know she hurts but hopefully this will be the worst she has to go through for a long time. I think any 8-month old that has to go through strep should have a reprieve from illness for at LEAST a year. I'm sure she'll be back to her normal self soon. I just hope Ben doesn't catch it! He has quite a little temper, I can only imagine...
First let me say that picture is way too cute!!!!
I hate it when they are sick!!!!! UUGGG! I feel so bad for them too:( How lucky you are to have a nurse in the family!!!! I hate to say this but we have had to do 2 rounds of antibiotics a few times on Pierce. The first round just didn't do it:( Or we had to switch to a stronger antibiotic. I would let her doc. know that she is still this miserable and just make sure they still want you to stay on the same med's. Good luck!
awe, poor girl...I think what she needs most is cuddles and kisses, it always seems to make evan better....like right now. :)
